On-Field Training for Adult Officials

2019 On-Field Training Dates
- Training for New and Returning Officials will be on March 9th and 10th
- Time and location will be announced in February
- Registration will open in February

Individuals interested in becoming a women’s lacrosse official are required to attend a classroom clinic and participate in field training. Prior lacrosse experience is not required.

During on-field training, prospective officials will work with experienced trainers to learn how to officiate a game and then will be evaluated to determine if the individual has earned a competency level and is qualified to serve as an official.

The focus of on-field training is to teach, support and encourage prospective officials. You will be provided with a whistle, flag and set of penalty cards. There is no fee for on-field training.

Prospective officials will participate in the following activities during on-field training:

Prospective officials will be contacted by email, after on-field training, with written feedback and rating determination.

Advance registration is required for on-field training. Register early. There are a limited number of spots available for each on-field training session. Because of this, WWLOA cannot guarantee you will you will be assigned to the on-field training session you selected.

You will be notified by WWLOA of the date, time and location of the on-field training session to which you have been assigned. You will also be notified by WWLOA if no openings are available for the session you selected.

Please arrive at the field at least 15 minutes before the designated start time to allow time to check-in and meet the trainers.
