Step 1 - Classroom Clinic

All New and Returning officials are required to annually attend a classroom clinic (virtual/online for 2021 and now, 2022). During your classroom session, experienced trainers will review the rules, game management and points of emphasis for the year. 


All New Officials must attend the "New Official" Clinic. The New Official clinics will cover an in-depth review of the rules, mechanics and procedures of women's lacrosse. New Officials who register with USALacrosse will receive a USA Lacrosse Women's Rule Book.  Clinic fees are $25 per New Official attendee.  (Free for Returning Officials).


2022 Classroom Clinics are going VIRTUAL due to the ongoing pandemic:


New Officials Clinics (pick Part A and Part B, ideally in this sequence).

  • Sunday, Feb. 6 - Part A: 10am-1pm, Part B: 2pm-5pm, or
  • Saturday, Feb. 12 - Part A: 10am-1pm, Part B: 2pm-5pm.


Returning Officials Clinics (2pm-5pm): 

  • Sunday, Feb. 6, or 
  • Saturday, Feb. 12

Step 2 - ON-FIELD TRAINING & Rating

On-field training is a very important part of building experience and confidence in a live game setting. These training days are split between Adult Officials and Junior Officials.  All New Officials, All Junior Officials, and Returning Adult Officials with lapsed ratings are required to participate in on-field training to earn a current rating. The timeframe is approximately 2.5-3.5 hours. 


Junior Official On-Field Training-Rating options are:  


  • March 5 (Sat.)
    • Badger Mt. Park (RICHLAND) (all day/tba)
  • March 19 (Sat.)
    • FULL: REGISTRATION CLOSED AT Curtis HS Stadium & Lower Colegate Field (TACOMA) (10:30am-7pm)
    • FULL: REGISTRATION CLOSED AT Islander Middle School (MERCER ISLAND) (8:30am-2pm)
  • March 20 (Sun.)
    • FULL: REGISTRATION CLOSED AT Glacier Peak HS (SNOHOMISH) 8:30am-4pm
    • FULL: REGISTRATION CLOSED AT Marymoor Park (REDMOND) 8:30am-3pm (Fields #1 & #4)

Adult Official On-Field Training-Rating options are:

  • March 12 (Sat.)
    • Meadowdale Playfields (LYNNWOOD) 9am-4pm (turf fields) or
    • Mercer Island HS Stadium (MERCER ISLAND) (11:30am-6pm)            
  • March 13 (Sun.)
    • Marymoor Park (REDMOND) 8:30am-3pm (Fields #1 & #4)
    • Maple View MS (18200 SE 240th St., COVINGTON) (8:30am-3pm)
