Step 2 - ON-FIELD TRAINING & Rating

  • On-field training is a very important part of building experience and confidence in a live game setting. These training days are split between Adult Officials and Junior Officials.  All New Officials, All Junior Officials, and Returning Adult Officials with lapsed ratings are required to participate in one on-field training date to earn a current rating. The timeframe is approximately 3.5 hours.  All registered new officials will receive a free "starter kit" (Adult: whistle, cards, flag  Youth: GREEN whistle*, green lanyard*, cards) at their first field training day.

***Green accessories for junior officials are being used all over the country to remind coaches and parents that the officials on the field are indeed JUNIORS, and perhaps lead to a decrease in any negative behavior they may exhibit on the sideline.
