Step 1 - Classroom Clinic

All New and Returning officials are required to annually attend a classroom clinic. During your classroom session, experienced trainers will review the rules, game management and points of emphasis for the year.

All New Officials must attend the "New Official" Clinic. The New Official clinics will cover an in-depth review of the rules, mechanics and procedures of women's lacrosse. New Officials who register with USALacrosse will receive a digital NFHS Women's Lacrosse Rule Book.

Step 2 - ON-FIELD TRAINING & Rating

On-field training is a very important part of building experience and confidence in a live game setting. These training days are split between Adult Officials and Junior Officials. All New Officials, All Junior Officials, and Returning Adult Officials with lapsed ratings are required to participate in one on-field training date to earn a current rating. The timeframe is approximately 3.5 hours. All registered new officials will receive a free "starter kit" (Adult: whistle, cards, flag; Youth: GREEN whistle*, green lanyard*, cards) at their first field training day.

***Green accessories for junior officials are being used all over the country to remind coaches and parents that the officials on the field are indeed JUNIORS, and perhaps lead to a decrease in any negative behavior they may exhibit on the sideline.
